Advertising companies are moving towards a pull strategy from the traditional push strategy that has been used before. The objective is the same, to increase revenue, or interest and knowledge on a subject. But instead of being flagged as intrucive, why not get others to want to see the advertisement?
This is the case with the latest marketing campaign for the Oslo Stock Exchange (OSE/OBX) attempting to raise awareness of the exchange for international investors.
The video in question ( see it at www.propaganda-as.no ) was emailed around to a selected number of investors in London then it was just to wait for it to spread.
Getting an advertisement on user-contributing websites such as youtube is gold, as the exposure explodes.
