The negotiations between the parties in this years wage settlement for the Finance workers in Norway broke off at 15:40 local time today, saturday, without any results after disputing over pensions. They have informed the minister of employment of this.

This means that ATMs will not be refilled, and will probably become empty within the weekend. The banks will be closed from Monday, for how long is undecided.

The finance union includes 1600 workers in the strike, and the banks answers with a lockout of the remaining workers. This means that 24,000 workers will be locked out.

All electronic payments will shut down, including stock trading and internet banking. offline solution can still be used, as these aren't processed untill after the situation is over, but no online-transactions will be performed, including in stores.

An interesting question is how long it will be allowed to continue before the government involves themselves. As the current government consist of socialistic cowards, probably not too long.

I withdrew cash today, as recommended by multiple bank managers the past couple of days, and refilled my car, just in case.
