1st key data's SQL section
Whether you are a beginner seeking SQL help, or a data warehousing veteran looking for a SQL refresher, you have come to the right place. This SQL tutorial site lists commonly-used SQL commands, and is divided into the following sections: * SQL Commands: How SQL statements are used to store, retrieve, and manipulate data in the relational database. * Table Manipulation: How SQL statements are used to manage tables inside the database. * SQL Syntax: A single page that lists the syntax for all the SQL commands in this tutorial. For each command, the SQL syntax will first be presented and explained, followed by an example. By the end of this brief tutorial, you should have a good general understanding of the SQL syntax. In addition, you should be able to write SQL statements using the correct syntax to perform basic queries. My experience is that understanding the basics of SQL is much easier than mastering all the intricacies of this computer language, and I hope you will reach the same conclusion as well.

Face-off: Oracle vs. SQL Server
Can a SQL Server fan be converted to the Oracle DBMS? Not easily. The loyalty that database administrators feel for their chosen vendor borders on the fanatical. It's a love-hate relationship, where only those using Oracle, for example, are allowed to complain about Oracle. If you choose to use the less costly, simpler SQL Server, then you had better not hurl insults at Oracle, or its DBAs will be, to put it mildly, "vocal" in its defense. Then again, SQL Server users are just as devoted and are looking forward to Yukon trouncing the competition. Two SearchDatabase.com site editors debate the merits of both systems here.
