I'm John G. Burns from The Highlands of Scotland and I really love the place. Read more about me on this page. If you love driving as much as I do then buy a BMW, truly the Ultimate Driving Machine and much cheaper to own than you'd think. See my BMW addicts page which contains lots of information and tips. Driving up here on single track roads requires a bit more care than you may be used to. Anyone who's serious about computing and wishes to retain their sanity uses Unix or maybe an Apple Mac. You can run Unix on a PC with Linux. But the best idea is to get a dedicated Hewlett Packerd Unix workstation or possibly a Sun, probably the best computers in the world. My HP 9000/712 hasn't been turned off in over 7 years and has never crashed in all that time! I sell used HPs, SGIs and Suns cheaply throughout europe, see my Unix sales page.

Just a great comic strip!!!TOP TEN GEEK RESOLUTIONS FOR THE NEW YEAR:...according to UFies (and filtered by yours truly) in the daily forum that is! Here they are: 1. Stop saying "I told you so" at the office. 2. Stop telling old man Jones down the street that the "blue screen of death" refers to a modernized voodoo curse. 3. Stop trying to build a defensive perimeter around my cubicle with Lego. 4. Stop spewing bile every time I see the letter "S" "C" and "O" juxtaposed, like in words such as "teleSCOpe." 5. To decipher what that big room is, which has the blue ceiling and poor climate control. 6. Once a week eat something that does not require boiling water. 7. Defenestrate all Windows boxes. 8. Bathe every day, even whilst playing Half-Life 2. 9. Watch the Lord of the Rings movies without picking apart the diversions from the books. 10. Move out of my mom and dad`s basement. And this time I mean it.
